The Weaver bird is the only type of bird that has the capacity to tie a knot, which results in large nests with tear-drop shaped chambers hanging from thin branches on the outmost parts of the tree. The Weaver bird featured in this artwork is a Ruppell's Weaver bird that lives in my garden in Saudi Arabia. It is also know to be found from Somalia across to Northern Kenya. Almost as well travelled as you.
